Unfortunately, labs are not able to detect the live enzyme in our enzyme products. But we take extra measure in our production to control the temperature to ensure the enzyme alive in our final products. And we do have many good feedbacks from our customers after using our enzyme products.
During soap making process, the lye is added to the oils to achieve a chemical reaction call saponification. Upon saponification, lye and oil will combine and form into soap and glycerin. Lye will be used up in the saponification process resulting in lye free products. On top of it, we cure our bar for a min of 8 weeks to allow any remaining lye to everaporate off before launching into the market for sell.
Our products are made in small batch production. It means we ensure that consumers have access to the freshest products available. For skin care products, this is a very good thing. Freshness allows for the active ingredients to be at their most potent and therefore most effective.
Yes, we do use preservatives in our skin care to prevent spoilage; whether from the growth of harmful bacteria and mold or undesirable chemical change. Preservatives are also used to protect the products from inadvertent contamination by the consumer during use. Without preservatives, cosmetic products can be contaminated, leading to product spoilage and possibly irritations or infections. We use mild preservatives that are proven harmless to the skin. Because of it, our products do not have a long shelf life. Our products are remain safe for maximum of 6 months in their closed container and it is suggested that the products should be used 1 month upon opening. Customers MAY use the products even after 1 month of opening ONLY IF there is no change in product’s texture, color and smell.
For soaps, no preservative is necessary.
Our products are parabens and SLS/SLES free. It is also free of : artificial fragrances and colorants, Toluene, Phthalate, Polyethylene Glycol (PEG), Formaldehyde, Oxybenzone (and other chemical sunscreens), Diethanolamine and Tric losan. We do our best to only use safe and high grade ingredients available.
Most handmade cold process soap is naturally alkaline with a pH of around 9-10. This pH helps to gently clean the skin.
